Join the Residents’ Committee!
The Haydon Hill Community Association (HHCA) exists for one purpose — to make life better for everyone living here. We’re a charity run entirely by volunteers, and everything we do is guided by one belief: when neighbours come together, great things happen. To us, that means bringing people together, supporting local activities, keeping everyone informed, and making sure our Community Centre is a welcoming hub for all.
HHCA is proudly inclusive and non‑political. We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, identities, and life experiences. A community thrives when different voices sit around the same table — and right now, that table has room for more. Our committee currently has 10 volunteers, and we’re looking to grow.
Here’s what the committee helps make happen:
· Community voice — representing residents in conversations with Buckinghamshire Council, Thames Valley Police, Thames Water, and our local MP
· A thriving Community Centre — maintaining the building, managing bookings, arranging repairs, and ensuring it stays safe and welcoming
· Events and activities — e.g. Craft Fayres, Christmas Disco, Open Days, Easter Trail
· Sharing information on local issues — newsletters, noticeboards, website, social media
· Improving our area — reporting defects, coordinating litter picks, updating signage, and supporting safety initiatives
· Encouraging new ideas — helping residents turn great ideas into real community benefits
How much time does it take?
As much or as little as you want. Some volunteers give a few minutes here and there, others enjoy getting stuck into projects. And you can choose the parts that you are passionate about and want to be involved in. There’s no minimum commitment, and no special skills required — just enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference. We meet quarterly with our local councillors, for a two‑hour session to discuss what’s happening and agree on actions for the next few months.
